How the Online Community Service System Works

What a Session Looks Like

Coursework is a series of short lessons on topics such as accountability, decision-making, emotional regulation and managing anger. Each lesson has a reading timer, and after each one you write a short reflection in your own words. Reflections have their own timer, so the time you spend writing counts too, and they need real content: a line that only fills space is not accepted.

Your coursework can also include applied activities, such as case studies and an accountability plan, each completed in five stages. A complete case study can be approved automatically; accountability plans, revisions and anything flagged are reviewed by our staff.

How Your Hours Are Counted

Hours come from the time you spend actively working: reading, writing reflections and completing activities. The timer runs on our servers and stops when you are idle or the lesson is not the page in front of you. Up to 8 hours count per day, and your progress saves as you go, so you can stop and pick up later on any device.

Hours appear on your dashboard once they are approved. Work waiting for review is shown separately and is never counted early. At the daily maximum, a 40-hour requirement takes at least 5 days and a 100-hour requirement at least 13 days, so start well before the date in your court order.

The Documents You Receive

Your documents download as PDFs from your dashboard, so you can send a court, probation officer or school an up-to-date record whenever they ask.

Enrollment letter

As soon as you enroll. Confirms your enrollment and describes the program for the court, officer or school reviewing it.

Progress report

Any time. Your approved hours and sessions to date, clearly marked as an interim report.

Hour log

Any time. Session-by-session activity with dates and a running total.

Certificate of completion

When all your approved hours are complete. Your name, total hours, completion date and a unique verification code.

Detailed activity report

When your program is complete. Every lesson and reflection you completed, by course and date, linked from your verification record.

How Your Court, Officer or School Checks Your Record

Anyone with your name and verification code can check your record on our certificate verification page, without an account or a phone call. It shows your hours, program status and dates. Our letter of introduction explains the program for the person reviewing it.

Many courts, probation departments and schools accept online community service, and each sets its own rules, so check with yours.

If Your Requirement Changes

If your court adds hours, raise your total from your dashboard and pay only the difference between the two program fees. Your progress, hour log and documents carry over to the new total. For how the curriculum is organized, see our program structure.
